This week on GayPHX, we’re heading behind the scenes of Arizona independent filmmaking with filmmaker Michael Entity and actor James Yaw to discuss Barrett, a powerful new film that explores family, loyalty, loss, redemption, and what it means to protect the people we love.
Rather than making sexuality the entire story, Barrett presents a complex queer hero whose journey is rooted in the universal experiences of grief, belonging, trauma, and resilience. Michael and James join us to talk about the inspiration behind the film, bringing the character of Barrett to life, and why stories like this still matter today.
